There’s a video going around about how wine is made in I think it’s douro and americans are going nuts because apparently they didnt know traditionally wine is made by stomping on grapes and the reactions fluctuate between: 1) only rich people do that because the advance of the proletariat allows them to drink machine made juice (???) and 2) ‘feet juice’ as if that wasn’t a concern in hygiene matters for centuries. And it’s. A wonder. Bc like. This isn’t a tradition from here. It’s like ….. How you do wine everywhere traditionally. A lot of places still do it. It’s not “rich” its regional

there are seasonal festivities dedicated entirely to harvesting grapes to produce wine. the whole village comes together to stomp on grapes and get plastered on great wine. it happens in here, spain, italy, greece, like.. well come to think of it im not surprised this is a southern european thing
